Bugatti is no.2 Dream Drive
In a recent poll conducted by 4Car website and MPH ’07 Auto Show, Bugatti emerged as runner-up in the “perfect car and passenger of our dreams” category. The Bugatti Veyron garnered 13 percent of total votes, but not enough to dislodge the Alfa 8C Competizione, which received a commanding 30 percent approval.
The Alfa paired with actress Scarlet Johansson as she was awarded the tag of perfect passenger.
Bugatti then partnered with the no.2 dream passenger, Jessica Alba. For those who may have just come out from a rock, this American actress just happened to be the recently crowned sexiest woman in the world.
See? Being a runner-up isn’t all that bad.
No Little Brother for the Bugatti Veyron
Rumors have been roaming around that a smaller and cheaper Veyron is in the works within the Bugatti camp. But management quickly dispelled such scandalous hearsays of actually releasing a Bugatti for just a measly million dollars.
Franz-Josef Paefgen, newly appointed CEO of Bugatti, could not be more emphatic in his statement: “There will be no smaller Bugatti. If a second car comes to market, it will be in the same market segment as the current 1000-horsepowered car.”
“And like the current Veyron, a new addition will be extremely exclusive, with lifetime volumes in the hundreds, not thousands.”
Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang Sold within 24 hours
Going back to the developments in the Frankfurt Motor Show, Bugatti’s offering of the Veyron Pur Sang turned out to be another resounding success in the automotive industry. In fact, even with just a one-time exhibit in the IAA, all five copies were sold outright within a record of 24 hours.
It’s amazing how a fusion of revolutionary technology and top brand positioning could spark off people to have their own race just to acquire this €1.4 million racecar.
Bugatti Squares Off with BMW in Vintage Grand Prix (An Update)

With the advent of the prestigious Frankfurt Motor Show and all, updates for this prior discussed event took quite a long time coming. However, even if it’s a week late, the positive result is still definitely worth going over (hint as to the winner).
Not surprisingly, a Bugatti clinched the top spot for this Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix. Granted, it was a rainy and very wet Watkins Glen International that greeted racing participants, it did not hinder Peter Giddings and his 1927 Bugatti 35B Grand Prix car from zooming past the finish line.
In an interview, Giddings could not hide his glee as he ecstatically proclaims: “What a great weekend. I love the rain. I’m a little wet now, but it can’t get any better than that.”
Nearly 400 vintage racecars were vying to take part in said Vintage event. Later in the day, however, a number of drivers decided to back out as they chose not to run their prized racers under drizzling conditions. However, despite the slippery racetrack conditions, 14 of the 15 rare Italian-designed Bugattis still went along with the four-lap race.
Giddings skillfully bested the newer and more powerful 1939 Type 59 handled by Charles McCabe of San Francisco by 1.7 seconds.
“His car was much faster, but rain is a great equalizer,” Giddings triumphantly asserted.
Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang: Specs and Features

The ‘Pur Sang’ in the Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang is a French term for “thoroughbred” or “Pure Blood”. Experts would say that these connotations would relate to the Bugatti’s heritage as a racing marque. For simple enthusiasts, however, the Pur Sang may well have been termed as a Pure blood due to its full embodiment of what a royalty car should be.
Given everything that a standard Bugatti Veyron offers, from the aesthetic value to the total performing capacity, the Pur Sang revels in a new structure material that not only adds a unique style, but also increases the engine performance of the vehicle (if that can even be remotely possible).
The Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang is intricately crafted with a body shell of pure aluminum alloy, a carbon fiber monocoque body, and absolutely sans any paint job. Only the bare carbon fiber and aluminum will grace the exterior skin of this exclusive automobile.
With such a theme, the normal Veyron is then cut down to a 1,888Kg form, shaving about 100kg off its weight, and thus transforming the fastest car in the world even faster.
Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang Sparks Silver in Frankfurt

In the advent of Europe’s biggest and most esteemed motor show, the minds behind the Bugatti brand decides to parade its Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang.
Bugattis, besides its ground-breaking speed performance, is also renowned for high-end style. And for prestigious Frankfurt, the chosen design was that of a Veyron Pur Sang in clear-coated carbon fiber and ensconced in body panels of polished aluminum.

This selection proved to be a splendid idea, as with this specific Pur Sang’s silvery all-aluminum body shell amidst all the painted cars in the motor show, the Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang was definitely a standout among the other equally-superior car participants. Moreover, such an absence of exterior coats enabled the show’s journalists and car enthusiasts alike to visibly inspect the underlying raw materials of the vehicle.
The overall effect is pricelessly dazzling.
Bugatti EB218: Bugatti’s Messiah

Since its announcement of the bankruptcy in 1995 and Volkswagen consequent purchase in the late 1990’s, Bugatti’s reputation has been in peril. But the unveiling of Bugatti’s EB 218 in Geneva Motor Show in 1999 has blessedly changed all that.
To date, the Bugatti EB 218 model is a mixture of classic and modern design coupled with high performance capabilities. With an external frame that comes from space-technology aluminum, an exquisite interior cover in fine leather, plus the 18 cylinder full power engine, this car has define yet another level in the manufacturing of super cars.
This just goes to show that no one can bring down a superior product like Bugatti.
Bugatti Squares Off with BMW in Vintage Grand Prix
The 22nd annual Zippo US Vintage Grand Prix that will be held this weekend at Watkins Glen International will feature a much-awaited race between the old and the much older racing car, both of which are legends and royalty brands in the automotive industry.
Spear-heading the 430 entries are 30 BMW race cars from 1970 and 16 racing Bugattis from 1924 to 1938. With their reputation and track record history in car racing, the event will be a surefire success. Let’s wait and see as to which of these two cars, known for their amazing speed prowess, will emerge the victor. (And as with these blog theme, it wouldn’t be difficult to guess the car brand I’m rooting for)
